Joey McIntyre Blogs About His New Musical: “The Kid”

Joey has opened a new blog at Tumblr, where he will be sharing all about his new play, “The Kid”.

From Aug 29th to Sep 15th, Joey will be performing his one man show in the Garner Galleria Theater at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. The play was written with Christine Boylan, it’s directed by Eli Gonda and it has the musical direction of Rob Lewis.

According to Playbill, the press note stated, “In this coming-of-age story, Joey takes the audience from his hometown of Boston to sold-out stadium tours, when three generations of family drama becomes three decades of stage dreams” (…) With music from his childhood, music he helped make famous and music that inspires him, The Kid is about the power of family — the family we’re born to, the families we make — and how sometimes finding your own voice starts with learning how to listen. The Kid shows us that every stage is different — and you may have to play them all before you find your stage.”
