Tell me…, because I know… There is one song, among Joey McIntyre’s discography, that every time it comes up while you’re on YouTube (or even in your playlists!) you have to listen to. Which one is it? For me, this is it: “Five Brothers And A Million Sisters.”
The song is so honest, so powerful; and more than any NKOTB song about our BH family, it is the one that truly makes me feel… that funny feeling … You know what I mean âşď¸. So yes, every time I come across it, I must listen to it; and every single time, I weep tears of joy.
And that actually happened this morning when I was working on YouTube and this clip uploaded by @Tammi_inCO showed up in my recommendations ??…
And, as it usually happens with our boys, it happened on a moment when I needed it the most.
Second Gen BHs, Mac history lesson! Back in 2009, Joey had a foundation called “Let’s Get This” (You say, “Oh! That’s where the phrase comes from?” Yes!)
Anyways, its website – which has been down for quite a while – used to read,
âThe Letâs Get This Foundation is about people coming together to learn how, in even the smallest ways, we can make the world a better place. As we are giving back with different endeavors or âsteps,â we can learn from each other and create a forum for all kinds of âgood worksâ â wherever the passion lies.â
From NKOTB The Blog Archives
Joey McIntyre thought (smart guy) that a good way to “make the world a better place” could be by giving books to children; so, back then – during the Full Service Tour – fans would donate a children’s book at a concert, and then the books would find a home in the hands of a child.
Now, isn’t that something…
“But, Laly; What does this song have to do with that?” I’m so glad you asked! After their donation, each Blockhead would received a code to download this song for free: “5 Brothers And a Million Sisters,” written by Joey – of course – as a way to say, “thank you.”
Now… Isn’t-that-something âşď¸
So! Without any further introduction, here it is Joey McIntyre singing 5 Brothers And A Million Sisters in Las Vegas, thanks to @Tammi_inCO

Lyrics
Hey, Let’s get this.
Friday afternoon in Boston Town, and
still know my way around, and
Tryinâ to find the rehearsal spot for
the reunion of the âkids on the block, and;
Gonna rip it like we used to do.
Good to be back chillinâ with the crew, when
Donât know how it’s gonna be, but
last time we made history, so;
Tell your mama and your sister too, that
the New Kids are coming back for you, and
In my heart I knew youâd never forget,
but to see you again like this
makes me feel like Iâll never be alone.
Wherever it is Iâm goinâ to, whatever I am
is because of you
and I thank you. And I thank you.
Five brothers and a million sisters
didnât know how much I missed you.
Thank you.
And I thank you.
All the way back and all the way up tonight.
Call it what you want, but Iâll call it love tonight.
Some people said we couldnât do it again,
but the New Kids had the last word in the end, yeah
See what happens when you follow your dreams? Yeah
See what happens when you just believe? Yeah
The whole world opens up her arms.
Everything is easy that used to be hard.
So tell ya mother that I lover her too, and
donât you know we did it all for you, cuz
in my heart I knew youâd never forget,
but to see you again like this
makes me feel like Iâll never be alone.
Wherever it is Iâm goinâ to, whatever I am
is because of you
and I thank you. And I thank you.
Five brothers and a million sisters
didnât know how much I missed you.
Thank you.
And I thank you.
Cuz you build me up.
You make me high.
When I feel your love,
I wanna fly,
I wanna fly,
I wanna fly.
And I thank you, and I thank you.
Wherever it is,
wherever I am
I say that it’s all,
it’s all because of you.
Five brothers and a million sisters
didnât know how much I missed you.
I didn’t know
I didn’t know
Cuz you build me up.
You make me high.
When I feel your love,
I wanna fly,
I wanna fly, I wanna fly,
C’mon!
Cuz you build me up,
you make me high,
when I feel your love,
I wanna fly
No matter what weâre goinâ through
there ainât nothinâ we canât do.
And I thank you, and I thank you.
