“Cover Girl”, was released as the 5th single of New Kids On The Block’s second studio album “Hangin Tough” on August 22, 1989.
The single peaked the #2 position of the Billboard Hot 100 on November 4, 1989, and remained in the charts for eighteen (18) weeks.
The official video of Hangin’ Tough, is part of the VHS Hangin’ Tough Live; the video itself, was certified 11x Multi-Platinum (on November 30, 1990) by RIIA in the United States.

With five singles that made it to the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100, the album was certified diamond in Canada by the Canadian Recording Industry Association (CRIA) and 8x Multi-Platinum in the U.S.A by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on May 2, 1990.
