New Kids On The Block And New Edition Tour 2023. Question Mark!

Back in 2017, when the BET Awards honored New Edition with the Life Achievement award, Donnie Wahlberg said on the honoree reel, “If there was no New Edition, there would be no New Kids On The Block, no Boyz II Men, no Backstreet Boys, no N’Sync, nothing”.

For NKOTB to share a stage with New Edition, is more than a dream true; it’s a lifetime goal and honor. And, after having performed together at the AMAs, Donnie Wahlberg leads us to think they won’t stop there. In his latest Instagram, Donnie posted,

“The performance is love, but the process is life! I cherished every moment of this journey. @brookepayne1 you are the best to ever do it and I’m so humbled by your belief in me. You know we had to throw in the Step By Step foot dance for you!”

To choreographers Kevin Maher and Sunny Walters, in whom NKOTB has been relying on for the past years, he continued,

“@kmaher56 you are the greatest gift that keeps on giving and a true partner and genius collaborator. @sunnywalters you are an “angel from heaven” and the glue that holds this group together, my Leo sister. @leonlee10 — you did that!”

And then he concluded,

“@617mikebiv made sure I didn’t leave you out and you should not be — thank you for the energy and the love and the genius! I didn’t have your pic because you were making sure the moments were captured! What an honor to work with you all — behind the scenes! Let’s do it again! Soon!!!!!! (…) #NEKOTB2023 (…)”

Hashtag NEKOTB2023. Is it a dream, a goal or a plan in the making? Last month, NKOTB announced the “Mixtape Tour” for 2022, featuring Rick Astley, Salt-N-Pepa and En-Vogue; would NKOTB step out the “Mixtape Tour” series to hit the road along one band, as they did with the Backstreet Boys in 2011?

Time will tell.
